Harrop, Doris (Marriage - 17 June 1942)

Miss Doris Harrop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Harrop, was united in marriage to Harold Weitzman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Weitzman, of Stetsonville. The young couple exchanged marriage vows at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon in the Lutheran parsonage at Medford.

For the occasion, the bride wore a street length frock of dusty blue crepe with white accessories. She wore a shoulder corsage of roses, swansonia and ferns. A necklace, the gift of the groom, accentuated her simple frock.

Miss Evelyn Harrop was the only attendant for her sister, the bride. She wore a frock of dusty pink with blue accessories, and a shoulder corsage of mixed flowers.

The groom was attended by Elmer Haas of Abbotsford, Wis.

A 5:00 wedding supper for about 20 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Streamers of blue, white and pink, a large white wedding bell and a profusion of fragrant garden flowers decorated the home. A three tiered wedding cake, decorated in blue and white to match the colors in of the bride’s costume, was surmounted by a miniature bridal couple.

In the evening a wedding dance was held at Gad.

Mr. and Mrs. Weitzman are at home with the groom’s parents on a farm near Stetsonville.

Among guests from away who attended the wedding were the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Weitzman, Stetsonville, and the bride’s aunt Miss Ellen Arneson, of Barnevald.
