Tabor, Ernest (18 Dec. 1885 - 1 Jan. 1942)

Funeral services for Ernest Tabor who died New Year’s day at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, were held Saturday afternoon at the Rib Lake Funeral home. The Rev. Taylor Gutherie, West Branch, Ia., a brother-in-law of the deceased, conducted the services. Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Born in Valton, December 18, 1885, Ernest Tabor came to Dorchester with his parents in 1891. There, under the direction of his father, he began a musical career which earned him a place as trombone player in many of the leading circus bands.

In 1904 he married Miss Beryl Hopkins, who preceded him in death as well as their son.

For several years he made his home in Abbotsford with his parents working with them on their fur farm.

For several years he made his home at the Tabor cottage at Spirit Lake, until he was stricken with a serious illness last March.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. F. W. Chase, Roseburg, Ore.; Mrs. Paul Thomas, Rib Lake; Mrs. Taylor Gutherie, West Branch, Iowa; and two brothers, William R. Tabor, San Francisco, Calif., and Glenn E. Tabor, Chicago.

The Rev. and Mrs. Gutherie and Glen Tabor were among the relatives who attended the funeral.
