Madsen, Anna (28 MAR 1869 - 24 DEC 1949)

Death came quietly to Mrs. Robert Madsen at her home in the Fourth Ward of the city of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), Christmas Eve, just 42 years to the day on which she was united in marriage. It was on Dec. 24, 1907 that she and her husband were joined in wedlock in a ceremony performed in the Chris Madsen home in the village of Withee. Funeral services were conducted from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. J. L. Dixen reading the final rites. Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers at the services were her six grandsons, Gerhardt, Scott, Gordon, Lawrence, Clarence, and Jerome Christophersen. Those in charge of flowers were Mesdames Gerhardt, Lawrence, Gordon and Scott Christophersen and Misses Deborah Christophersen and Elsie Nielsen of Madison.

The deceased was born on March 28, 1869 in Denmark. She came to this country as a young lady, settling in this community years ago, being one of its pioneer residents. Shortly after her marriage to Mr. Madsen, they settled on a farm south of the city, on which they earnestly worked developing it to its present day state of fertility. About a year ago, they sold the farm at auction and built a small home in the city, where they have since established their residence.

Her departure from this world of uncertainty into a sphere of harmony and true happiness for which she has long prepared herself, is mourned by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Walter Wood, Withee and two sons, Pete and Chris Christophersen, Withee.
