Beilke, Marianne Jean (Marriage - 1 May 1971)

Miss Marianne Jean Beilke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Beilke of Rt. 1 Granton, and Steven Lynn Humphrey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Humphrey of Rt. 1 Chili, exchanged wedding vows Saturday, May 1, at 2 p.m. in Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Daniel Litzer of Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville performed the double-ring ceremony before 125 guests. The altar held bouquets of white gladioli and yellow daisies. Bells and blue and yellow streamers also decorated the church.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a sequin-trimmed gown of Chantilly lace over bridal satin fashioned with a matching train. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion was held by a crown of seed pearl points and crystal loops. She carried a bouquet of pink sweetheart roses and white carnations entwined with ivy.

Miss Diane Beilke as maid-of-honor wore a floor-length, empire-style gown of yellow chiffon over satin with matching headpiece. Bridesmaids Miss Linda Reidel and Mrs. Jerold Beilke wore identically-styled blue gowns. All carried color-coordinated carnation bouquets.

Bestman was Van Humphrey. Groomsmen were James Beilke and Jerold Beilke. David Schuld of Wisconsin Rapids and Arnold Humphrey of Eau Claire served as ushers. Philip Humphrey of Chili was the ringbearer. Flowergirl was Deanna Schuld of Wisconsin Rapids, wearing a gown identical to that of the bride. She carried a basket of pink roses and white mums.

Mrs. Donald Schutt of Marinette was the organist. Soloist Miss Susan Dudei of Eau Claire sang “O Perfect Love” and “The Wedding Prayer.”

A reception for 125 guests was held at Storm’s in Granton.

The bride is a 1970 graduate of Granton High School. Her husband, a 1969 Granton High School graduate is employed in Marshfield.

Following a wedding trip in the western states the newlyweds will live at Rt. 3 Marshfield.
