Burzynski, Martha (25 AUG 1951)

A pretty wedding took place at St. Helen’s Church in Chicago, Ill., on Saturday morning Aug. 25th, 1951 at ten o’clock, when Miss Martha Burzynski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Burzynski, became the bride of Alex Wrobel, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wrobel.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She was dressed in a white satin gown trimmed with rhinestones with a laced yolk, lace sleeves and peplum. She wore a fingertip veil trimmed with lace and her crown was beaded with seed pearls and rhinestones. Her bouquet consisted of a colored orchid with white carnations and lilies of the valley. Around her neck she wore a rhinestone cross.

Miss Lillian Burzynski, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Her gown was a white lace with a net skirt and she carried a bouquet of red roses with a cluster of white carnations tied with white satin streamers. She wore red roses in her hair.

Caroline Buzinski, niece of the bride, acted as flower girl. She wore a white taffeta gown trimmed with lace and carried a bouquet of red roses with the same flowers in her hair. Miss Celia Burzynski, sister of the bride, acted as first bridesmaid. Julia Burzynski, sister of the bride and Ruth Burzynski, cousin of the bride, acted as bridesmaids. They all wore white gowns identical to the maid of honor and carried red roses with the same flowers in their hair. The bride’s gifts to her attendants were pearl necklaces, bracelets and earrings, and to the flower girl a gold cross.

The groom was attended by his cousin Arthur Wrakel of Chicago as best man. The ushers were Gene Szadkowski, friend of the groom, and Fred Staron, friend of the bride and groom. The groom and his attendants wore tuxedos of midnight blue and white carnations on their coat lapels. The groom’s gifts to his attendants were wallets. After the ceremony the bride assisted by the maid of honor, carried a bouquet of flowers on the Blessed Virgin’s altar.

The bride’s mother wore an aqua dress and the groom’s step-mother wore a pink lace dress. They both wore corsages of red roses.

A reception took place at May Hall, 839 May St. at Chicago. Lil Wally furnished the music throughout the evening.

The young couple came to Wisconsin to visit with the bride’s folks for one week, also with friends and relatives, and return to Chicago where the bride and groom are employed.

Out of town guests who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. John Burzynski, Andrew and Celia Burzynski and Mr. and Mrs. Adam Staron of Thorp, and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Liszewski of Stanley, Wis.
