Szatalowicz, Clara M. (14 JUL 1951)

Now residing in Kansas City, Mo., where both are employed, are Mr. and Mrs. C. Wayne Gifford, who were married during a nuptial ceremony performed at 9 o’clock Saturday morning in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp. The Rev. Ernest Kaim of St. James Church, Vesper, officiated, assisted by Rev. Jerome Kamla, Stanley, and Rev. Jos. Walejewski, Thorp.

The bride, the former Clara Marie Szatalowicz, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Szatalowicz, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy D. Gifford, Holt, Mo.

A pleated marquisette bodice featured the nylon gown worn by the bride. Chantilly lace bordered the train which fell from the full skirt. Her fingertip veil extended from a Chantilly lace cap and she carried a white prayer book and a corsage of yellow roses and white stephanotis.

Attending the bride were her sister, Miss Lorraine J. Szatalowicz, as maid of honor, Miss Theresa Szatalowicz, another sister of the bride, as junior bridesmaid, and Phyllis Kass, Tracy, Minn., and Terry Ptacek, Elma, Iowa, as bridesmaids.

All were dressed alike in gowns of pale green nylon marquisette over summer white featuring pleated stoles. Headbands of matching material and white nylon gloves completed their ensembles and each wore a wrist corsage of yellow daisies mixed with baby breath.

Vicki Lynn Szatalowicz, Stanley, Niece of the bride, as the little flower girl, wore a white nylon marquisette gown and a headband of Chantilly lace. Her wrist corsage was also composed of yellow daisies and baby breath.

Dan Slupski, Thorp, was best man, and Florian Szatalowicz, Thorp, brother of the bride, and Curtiss Bye, Kansas City, Mo., were groomsmen.

A breakfast for the immediate family was served following eh ceremony, and a dinner at 6 p.m. for friends and relatives. In the evening a dance was held in the parish hall.

The couple spent their honeymoon in northern Wisconsin and will make their home at 320 Highland, Kansas City, Mo.
