Meier, Helen (23 July 1897 - 14 Feb. 1941)

Funeral services for Mrs. George Meier, Town of Mayville, were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at two o’clock at Peace Evangelical Church, Dorchester, Wis. The Rev. J. J. Hoffman conducted the services. Internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Herb Weideman, Kenneth Ingersoll, Herb Baehr, Alfred Dake, Herman Wilke, Peter Schumacher and William and Fred Taucher. The flower girls were the Misses Ila Hoffman, Mae Weideman, Elaine Krackenberger, Sadie Schumacher and Ilene and Betty Violand.

Mrs. George Meier was born Helen Nurenberger, July 23, 1897, in Milwaukee and lived in the Town of Mayville since girlhood. Mrs. Meier had been ill only a short time before her death at the Medford Clinic, Friday morning.

Surviving are her husband and five children, Mrs. Melvin (Lola Mae) Herriott, Libertyville, Ill.; the Misses Dorothy and Ruth, Chicago, and Miss Beverly and Alfred at home. Her father, Herman Nurenberger, Dorchester, and one brother, Alfred, Stetsonville, also survive.

Mr. Meier’s parents were among the early settlers in this community and he himself operated a livery barn in Abbotsford some twenty years ago.
