Hebert, Leo Francis (1 Aug. 1899 - 25 Aug. 1961)

Leo Francis Hebert at the age of 65 years Friday morning at 5:00 o’clock shortly after he had been admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rev. John B. Pinion officiating and burial was made in the church cemetery.

Pall bearers were Maurice Anderson, William Siegrist, Alfred Schaefer, Otto Braun, Albert Hoffmann and Randy Bellendorf.

Mr. Hebert was born in Clark County on August 1, 1899. He married Hazel Tibbets at Colby on September 23, 1925. The couple farmed in the Unity area until four years ago when they came to Colby, Wis. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the American Legion Post at Unity, Wis. At one time he served on the Unity school board.

Surviving are his wife; eight daughters, Mrs. Edward (Marie) Hartl of Medford; Mrs. Ray (Vivian) Redetzke of Stratford; Mrs. Edward (Adella) Schmitz and Mrs. Wm. (Alice) Kasten of Wausau; Mrs. Arthur (Florence) Edblom Jr., of Unity; Mrs. Wm. (Joan) Jones of Little Rock, Ark.; and Rose and Carol at home; three sons, Leonard of Spencer; Franklin of Gurnee, Ill., and John at home; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Cole of Neenah; a brother, Charles Hebert of Yakima, Wash.; 24 grandchildren.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Nellie Cole of Neenah, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tibbets and Phyllis of Trout Creek, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Ewert of Rhinelander, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Wager of Stratford, Ernest Hebert of Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hebert of Marshfield.
