Wojcik, John (6 JUN 1887 - 19 DEC 1950)

John Wojcik, 63, lifetime resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and vicinity, passed away at an Eau Claire hospital at 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 19th, 1950.

Mr. Wojcik had been in ill health for some time and underwent an operation two weeks ago.

Funeral services will be held at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10:00 o’clock on Friday morning, Dec. 22nd. An obituary will be published next week.

John L. Wojcik was born in Minneapolis, Minn. On June 6, 1887 and moved to a farm north of Thorp with his parents at the age of three years.

On May 11, 1911 he was united in marriage to Caroline Czyzewicz at St. Hedwig’s Church in Thorp and made his home in the then village of Thorp doing carpentering work. In 1918 he started farming south of Thorp, and in 1944, Mr. Wojcik and his family moved back to this city.

Mr. Wojcik, 63, lifetime resident of thorp and vicinity passed away at an Eau Claire hospital. He had been ill for some time and underwent an operation four weeks ago. Death came on Tuesday morning, Dec. 19th, at 2:30 o’clock.

Funeral services were held on Friday morning, Dec. 22nd at 10 o’clock at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, the Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline; two sons, Conrad of Chicago, Lt. William Wojcik of Scot Field, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Theodora) Sabrowsky of Thorp; a brother Mike of Medford; two half-brothers, Frank and Anton Wilcenski, both of Gilman; a sister, Mrs. Julia Herman of Gilman; three half-sisters, Mar. Mary Dobrzynski of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., Mrs. Ann Stroinski and Mrs. Henry Czyzewicz, both of Thorp.

Pallbearers were: Gilbert Voelker, John Maier, Frank H. Schmidt, Ignatz Przybylski, Mike Kaminski and Joe Moczarny.
