Deauchamp, Mathilda (8 NOV 1875 - 6 NOV 1950)

Mrs. Joseph Deauchamp, 74, died at the Stanley hospital on Monday, where she was a patient for the past week. She suffered a stroke of paralysis about a week ago at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Sisco here, where she was staying. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Shaw officiating. An obituary will be published next week.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mathilda Deauchamp, 74, were conducted by Rev. Leland Shaw, pastor of Methodist at the Thorp Funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock Thursday afternoon, Nov. 9th. Mrs. Deauchamp passed away at the hospital at Stanley on Monday, Nov. 6th, 1950 of a stroke which she suffered on Oct. 21.

Mathilda Western Deauchamp was born Nov. 8th, 1875 in Richland County, Wis., the daughter of Erick and Marie Western. She lived there until her marriage to Joseph Deauchamp on Oct. 26, 1896. They resided on a farm there until about 1902 and then came to Thorp (Clark County), Wis. Later they lived in Madison, Wis., and Marshfield, before coming back to Thorp to make their home.

She is survived by her husband Joseph Deauchamp, three children, Mayme, Marshfield; Fred, Minneapolis; and Tom, Milwaukee; Also one sister, Mrs. Hannah Miller, Stanley, wis., two brothers, Albert Western, Madison, Alfred Western, So. Milwaukee; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was laid to rest in the East Thorp Cemetery.

Deworth, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Broem, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Holden, Ellsworth.
