At a ceremony performed at St. Bernard’s Church on Oct. 17th, 1950 at nine o’clock, Father A. M. Muckerheide united in marriage Theresa Haas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haas, and Kenneth Tieman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tieman, Sr., of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, carried a bouquet of white mums and white pompoms to the Blessed Virgin’s altar. For her wedding the bride chose a white satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and insertions of lace in sleeves, dress and train. Her fingertip veil was fastened to a heart shape bonnet. She carried a bouquet of white mums and red roses with baby mums fastened to the streamers. Her only jewelry was a rhinestone necklace and earrings. A bride’s prayer book was the gift of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Marion Foster, a friend of the bride and groom, and Mrs. Earl Tieman, Jr., sister-in-law of the groom. Both wore identical gowns of rose satin fashioned with an off-shoulder fitted bodice, the skirt styled with lace edged apron effect with matching gauntlets and head pieces.

Mrs. Ed Ray Hurth, sister of the bride, acted as matron of honor, was attired in a green satin identical to the bridesmaid. All wore pearls and earrings, gifts of the bride. The bridesmaids and matron of honor carried bouquets of roses, yellow pompons and roses. Her gift from the bride was a bracelet and ring.

The groom’s attendants were Arnold Haas, brother of the bride, and Earl Tieman, Jr., brother of the groom. Casper and Edward Haas, cousins of the bride, acted as ushers.

The bride’s mother chose a print dress for her daughter’s wedding. Her grandmother wore a dark blue dress. The groom’s mother chose a green dress. All wore corsages of yellow and rose pompons.

A reception for eighty-five guests was held at the American Legion Hall.

The bride is a graduate of the Thorp High School, has been employed at the Cutler-Hammer Co. at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The groom is employed at Gender, Peschky & Frey at Milwaukee, where the newlyweds will make there home.

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tieman, Jr., Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ray Hurth of Cadott; Mr. and Mrs. Don Tieman, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tieman, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Art Baures and family of Fairchild.
