Kaminski, Josephine (1870 - 2 MAY 1950)

Funeral services were conducted at St. Hedwig’s Church on Friday, May 5th, 1950, at 10 a.m. by the Rev. F. Piekarski, Rev. E. Kaim and Rev. J. Kamla for Mrs. Albert Kaminski (nee Sypakowski), age 78, who passed away of old age infirmities on Tuesday morning, May 2nd, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Krakowiecki in Chicago.

Josephine Szpakowski was born in Poland and while in her teens immigrated to America, settling with relatives at Shomekin, Pa. There she was united in marriage to Konstanty Kordek, who met death at one of the hard coal mines. Shortly after she arrived in this community (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), she was married to Albert Kaminski and settled on the farm in the town of Withee where they lived the past thirty years.

Nine years ago, they retired to the city of Thorp where they have since lived. Her husband preceded her in death five years ago.

Mrs. Kaminski spent her last two months with her daughter in Chicago due to failing health.

Surviving her death are one daughter, Mrs. Adeline Krakowiecki, two sons, John of Chicago and Mike of Thorp; daughter-in-law, Betty Kaminski, also nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was laid to rest at St. Hedwig’s Cemetery on the family lot.

Pallbearers were John Kozenka, Joseph Moczarny, Ignatius Przybylski, Mike Krakowiecki, Gust Benda and Paul Konieczny.
