A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. David Frane at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital August 13.

Miss Christine Pearson returned home after spending a week with friends in Amhurst.

Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Strathman spent several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. X. Umhoefer.

Wallace Sossaman entered the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where he will undergo surgery.

Paul Beyerl returned home Monday after spending 10 days at the Charles Schwab home at Tomahawk.

Mrs. Leona Kops and children, who had been at Pittsville where Mrs. Kops attended summer school, returned to Colby, Wis.

A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Makovec of Colby, Route 2, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Wausau, August 15.

Mr. and Mrs. L. Miessner and children of Mancelona, Mich., spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Reeves.

Mr. and Mrs. LaMonte Dulmes and daughter, Patricia Ann, of Adell visited several days at the Hugo Brehm home the past week.

Mrs. Rose Zasacki visited several days at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mueller, and sons.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. David Carlson and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Decker attended the funeral of Mrs. Orville Nall at Spencer.

Week-end guests at the Ervin Primeau home were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ebben of Fort Atkinson, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ebben and Mrs. Roy Ebben of Kohler.

Mrs. Claude Tyler and son, Robert, of Loveland, Colo., returned to their home after spending two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Tesmer.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Zuber and family of Colby and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Zuber and family of Abbotsford returned from a trip to the Black Hills and Yellowstone Park.

Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Martin of Milwaukee, formerly of Colby, spent several days with friends here. They also visited in Florida and left for Humbird and Minnesota from Colby, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Partridge and family of Dwight, Ill., returned home Monday after visiting 10 days with the former’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Partridge and Linda.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mandel, Mrs. Edna Dins and Allen Dins of Colby and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dins of Unity attended the funeral of their uncle, Edwin Mandel, at Two Rivers last week Wednesday.

Don C. Borchert spent the week-end at the home of his parents, Mrs. Don C. Borchert. Mrs. Don C. Borchert and son, Scott Carl, returned to Mankato, Minn., with him but son, Steven, remained for a longer visit with his grand parents.

Out of town guests at the Jim Beyerl home Sunday were Mrs. Nick Selzener, Mrs. Keith Shipman of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Harold Custer, Mrs. George Webb and Mrs. Lester Palmer of Bloomer, Mrs. Harvey Bitter of Abbotsford, Mrs. Clifford Ellingson of Stetsonville and Mrs. John Bitter of South Dakota.

Mrs. Martha Weller, at the Bethel Convalescent Home in Arpin, formerly of Colby, was surprised by the following guests Sunday, Aug. 14th, who visited her and wished her a happy 83rd birthday anniversary: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Weller and Mrs. Ella Kanter of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Weller of Marshfield and Louis Weller of Abbotsford, Wis.
