Guetschow, Frank M. (2 June 1872 - 29 July 1960)

Frank M. Guetschow died of old age complications at his home in Colby Friday at 7:30 A.M. at the age of 88 years. Funeral services were held Monday morning in St. Mary’s church, Rev. John B. Pinion officiating, and internment was made in the parish cemetery. Pall bearers were John Fecker, Clarence Fecker, Harry Fecker, Louis Jakel, Frank Velek and John Frinak.

Mr. Guetschow was born in Germany on June 2, 1872, and was married in 1899 at St. Nazianz to Mary Schaller. After coming to the United States, he settled in Manitowoc county where he resided until 1910 when he moved to this area and operated a farm until 1945. He retired that year and moved to Colby, Wis.

Surviving are his wife; three children, Mrs. Bert (Eleanore) Heise of South Milwaukee, Lester Guetschow of Stevens Point and Norman Guetschow of Colby; eight grand children; 11 great grand children; one brother, Henry Guetschow of Kiel.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were from Leweston, Minn., Manitowoc, Sheboygan, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mr. Guetschow was well known, especially by older members of the community, as an industrious worker, honest in all his undertakings, and, being of a kindly and friendly disposition, was liked by all who knew him.
