Laager, Alice (Marriage - 30 September 1950)

Miss Alice Laager became the bride of William Rieder at a ceremony performed at the Methodist parsonage on Saturday at three o’clock. Rev. Virgil Nulton officiated at the double ring ceremony. Nuptial vows were said before 20 guests.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Fred Laager, chose a gown of white satin with lace and rhinestone trimming. She wore a finger tip veil and carried a crescent shaped bridal bouquet of white gladiolus.

For her role as maid-of-honor Miss Arlene Eslinger wore a green dress with lace bodice and matching crown. Mrs. Joyce Pozega as bridesmaid wore a gown of pink fashioned like that of the maid of honor. Frank Pozega acted as best man.

Following the ceremony a reception was held for 50 guests at the home of the bride’s sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. George Poertner. The house was tastefully decorated with white, green and pink streamers and white wedding bells. A large wedding cake centered the bridal table.

The bride and groom attended Neillsville schools. The groom is employed in farming in the Town of Weston.

Guests from out of town attending the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laager of Eau Claire, Mrs. Byron Hughs and son Robert of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rennep, Miss Clara June Travis of Davenport, Ia.
