Theilig, Shirley Marie (Marriage - 4 June 1960)

Miss Shirley Marie Theilig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Theilig of Colby became the bride of Erwin E. Eggersgluess, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eggersgluess of Hamburg, Route 1, at services before the altar decorated with red flowers in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church at Green Grove Saturday afternoon. Rev. Howard A. Timmermann officiated at the services. The "Wedding Benediction," "Lord’s Prayer," processional and recessional were in charge of Mrs. Vernon Boss and Mrs. Maynard Beaver.

When the bride entered the church with her father she was wearing a white floor-length gown of nylon tulle over satin, the bodice featuring a Sabrina neckline trimmed with Alencon lace, sequins and seed pearls. The bouffant skirt had floral appliqués. Sequins and pearls also decorated the headpiece from which the bridal veil flowed. The bride carried an orchid surrounded by pastel-colored roses.

The bridal aides were Mrs. Clarence Eggersgluess of Merrill, matron of honor; Miss Darlene Theilig of Wausau, maid of honor; Miss Lorna Koplien of Milwaukee, Mrs. Edwin Langhoff of Merrill, and Miss Luaine Zimmermann of Plymouth, bridesmaids, and Debra Boehm, Hamburg, miniature bride.

The aides wore floor-length frocks of chiffon over taffeta, the simply-designed bodices set off with billowing skirts. Short veils were attached to the floral bands and each attendant was provided with a floral piece.

The groom’s attendants were Hilbert Eggersgluess of Hamburg, best man, Carl Theilig of Colby, and Clarence Eggersgluess and August Langhoff, both of Merrill, groomsmen, and Lyle Eggersgluess of Merrill, ring-bearer.

Ushers were Melvin Zimmermann of Plymouth and Raymond Block of Hamburg.

The wedding reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, the dinner was served in the church parlors and that evening a dance was held at Prochnow’s Ballroom.

Mr. Eggersgluess, who attended Barney’s School at Hamburg and Athens High School, is employed at Pauly’s cheese factory. His bride, a graduate of Colby High School, has been employed by the Trinity Universal Insurance Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

After June 15, the newlyweds will be at home at 634 ½ Werle Ave., Wausau. At present they are on a wedding trip which is taking them to the Black Hills of South Dakota and other points of interest.
