Loretta Emma Wojcik, 88, Spencer, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Golden Living Continental Manor, Abbotsford, with her family at her bedside. A Catholic funeral service with a Mass was celebrated at Christ the King Church, Spencer, on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel officiated. Grandsons served as pallbearers. A private burial will be held at a later date at West Spencer Cemetery.

Loretta Emma King was born on Dec. 28, 1919, in the town of Emmet to Jacob and Emma King, Edgar. She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School, Edgar, and worked on the King farm in Edgar until she and Leo J. Wojcik married on April23, 1946, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, by the Rev. Edwin L. Knauf. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved spending time with her family and was the happiest at family gatherings. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and canning. Making quilts for all of her family members was her pride and joy. She especially enjoyed traveling the United States with her loving husband, Leo, as they visited his brothers and sisters with their families. They were members of Christ the King Catholic Church since 1948. She was a member of Christian Mothers (PCCW).

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Leo, of 63 years; her children, Leo (Joan) Wojcik Jr., Mary Ann (Roger) Griepentrog, Theresa James) Degenhardt, and Dennis (Donna) Wojcik, all of Spencer, and Gerri (Lee) Gamble, Edgerton; her grandchildren, Sara, Ben, Jamie, Cliff, Josh. Carissa, Rebecca, Matthew, Douglas, Danielle, Daria, Caitlin and Emma; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister Ann Schoehfuss, Stratford and four brothers, Alfred (Josephine) King, Mosinee, Arnold (Joan) King, Edgar, Aloysius King, Edgar, and Mark (Joann) King, Marshfield.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jacob and Emma King; her daughter, Cecilia Ann Wojcik, Spencer; her sisters, Dorothy Riplinger, Mary Wilhelm, and Agnes Dietel; her brothers, Leonard, Tony King and Joseph King.

Donations will contribute to a memorial that will be established in her name at a later date.

Hansen-Shilling Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
