Gosse, William Ernest (17 Oct. 1878 - 25 Apr. 1960)

William Ernest Gosse of Abbotsford, Wisconsin died at the Memorial Hospital in Neillsville Monday, April 25, at 3:00 A.M., complications being the cause of his death. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mr. Gosse was born on October 17, 1878, in the town of Mosel, Sheboygan county, where he received his education. He married Annie Weins in 1898. He was chairman of the town of Colby and a member of the Clark County Board of Supervisors for 33 years, a member of the Ev. and Reformed church and the Musicians Local 194 of Abbotsford, Wis. He was well known for his honest and congenial disposition and was held in high esteem by all who knew him which was exemplified by voters of the town of Colby by continually returning him to the office of town chairman.

Surviving are one son, Clarence, of Abbotsford, and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Kummer of Kohler and Mrs. Marie Mueller of Sheboygan. His wife, one son, Melvin, a grand son, Maynard, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
