Dehne, Edward F. (3 Feb. 1883 - 28 Nov. 1959)

Edward F. Dehne of Abbotsford, a former resident of Colby, died Saturday at 9:25 P.M. at the Havenet Rest Home in Owen at the age of 76 years. Funeral services were held at the First Evangelical and Reformed church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers.

Mr. Dehne was born in Manitowoc county on February 3rd, 1883, and received his education there. On June 5th, 1913, he married the former Lydia Ortmeier of the same county. In 1916 they moved to Colby and operated a farm here until 1956 when they moved to Abbotsford and lived with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Masiewicz. Mr. Dehne was a town of Hull supervisor for some time and held church offices at various intervals. He was well known as an upright citizen, honest in all his dealing, and, being of a friendly disposition, was well-liked by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Elmer Dehne and Arno Dehne of Abbotsford, Paul Dehne of Gardina, Calif., and Raymond Dehne of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Gertrude) Masiewicz of Abbotsford; three grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Stock and Mrs. Hulda Hintz of Newton; and a brother, Paul Dehne of Sheboygan.
