Rodman, Deborah #2 (24 DEC 1932 - 8 JAN 1906)

As noted in last week’s issue, Mrs. Deborah Rodman passed away Jan. 8th, 1906 at the home of her son Herschel in Pine Valley (Clark Co., Wis.).

Deceased was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, and was 73 years and 15 days old at the time of her death. She married Lyman Rodman in the year 1850 and they came to Clark County five years afterward and located at Yellow Pine Grove, down the Black River, and later homesteaded on a farm a few miles southeast of Neillsville. Mr. Rodman died in 1896, death being due to injuries received by falling from a scaffold while building a barn. The widow continued on the place.

The children left to mourn her death are two sons, Dell A. and Herschel, and two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Lapp and Mrs. R. B. French Jr. There are eight grand and two great-grandchildren.

Deceased was a good woman, was a kind and affectionate mother and a true womanly woman. Her death was due to pneumonia.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist Church and was largely attended. Interment was in the Neillsville Cemetery.
