Fricke, Paul E. (25 Nov. 1912 - 8 Mar. 1993)

OWEN - Services for Paul E. Fricke, 80, Owen, who died at 6:55 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit, Marshfield, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, Owen.

The Rev. Randall Usher of Chippewa Falls will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, town of Hixon, Withee.

Visitation will be at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, after 4 p.m. Thursday with an Owen Masonic Lodge F&AM Chapter 317 service at 7:30.

He was born Nov. 25, 1912, in the town of Hull, rural Colby, to the late Adolph and Wilhelmina (Tesmer) Fricke. He was a graduate of Colby High School. He married Evelyn Wilson in 1931, and she died in December 1970. He married Ella Kangas June 23, 1974, in Owen.

He and his first wife owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Green Grove. They later purchased the former Curtiss Corners Taverne in Curtiss. He has lived in Owen since 1951 and was employed by the Owen-Curtiss State Bank as a cashier from 1951 until retiring as vice president in 1978. He was a member of the board of directors of the bank until February 1990.

He was a member of the Owen Kiwanis Club, the master of Owen Masonic Lodge F&AM 317 and Scottish Rite Consistory of Eau Claire. He was also active in the early Owen Businessmen’s Club. He was treasurer of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, where he was a member for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Ella; two daughters, Yvonne Lokken of Danbury and Mrs. Paul (Susan) Johnson of New Prague, Minn.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Walter (Esther) Niedzwiecki of Owen and Sandra Kangas of Des Plaines, Ill.; one brother, Harold of Appleton; one sister, Viola Larson of Rapid City, S.D., and five step-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one brother, Elmer.
