Blank, Sandra Sue (Marriage - 7 Nov. 1959)

Miss Sandra Sue Blank, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lyon of Greenwood, and James Charles Schmutzler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Schmutzler of Riplinger, exchanged marriage vows in a ceremony performed in the First Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby Saturday afternoon, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating.

A white floor-length gown made with a French lace bodice and nylon tulle yoke with a Queen Anne collar and long sleeves was worn by the bride. The bouffant skirt was of nylon net and lace. The fingertip veil was caught to a seed pearl headpiece and she carried a bouquet of red roses, white carnations, and lily of the valley with satin streamers.

Miss Nancy Lee Blank of Greenwood was her sister’s maid of honor. Miss Carol Jane Goetz of Spencer was bridesmaid. They wore dresses in aqua and Persian rose color of taffeta, designed with bateau neckline and bouffant skirts and carried matching carnation bouquets.

Attending the groom was his brother, Allen Schmutzler of Riplinger and his cousin, John Witte, Jr., of Colby, Wis. Ushers were cousins of the groom, Neal Witte and Arlyn Hanne.

A reception and buffet supper were held at the home of the bride’s parents in Greenwood.

Mrs. Schmutzler is a graduate of Colby High School and her husband attended schools at Loyal and Colby, Wis. He is employed at Jensen Motors in Spencer where they will make their home.
