Becker, Mr./Mrs. Edmund (50th Anniv. - 10 Oct. 1959)

Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Becker of Colby, Wis. celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 10, with a mass at St. Mary’s church. Dinner was served approximately 100 guests at the church gym and a reception was held and supper served at the Wilbur Becker farm home.

Mrs. Becker, nee Emma Cramer, was born in Menomonie in 1888 and Mr. Becker was born in Woodland in 1888. They were married in Menomonie on October 12, 1909. They engaged in farming in Milwaukee county until 1919 after which they farmed in Clark county, with the exception of four years when they farmed in Marathon county, until their retirement in 1956 when they moved to the city of Colby, Wis. Mr. Becker was also manager of the Central Livestock and Shipping Association for 28 years.

They have five children - Mrs. Herbert (Regina) Martin of Marshfield, Wilbur Becker of the town of Hull, Mrs. Norbert (Lucille) Donnermeyer of Kaukauna, Mrs. Beafort (Margaret) Apfel of Marshfield, Mrs. E. A. (Mary) Fleischauer, Jr., of Marshfield. One son, Don, passed away. The children and their families were all here for the occasion. Other guests included Mrs. Becker’s three sisters and husbands, one brother and his family and two sisters of Mr. Becker and their families. Guests were from Woodland, Neoshe, Burlington, Menomonie, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
