Mossing, Claudia E. (1893 - 4 Apr. 1959)

Mrs. Claudia E. Mossing died of cancer Saturday, April 4th, at 6:10 P.M. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Everett A. Mossing, in West Bend, at the age of 65 years after an illness of five months. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were C. A. Nelsen, Ed Frome, August Spann, G. H. Riedel, Charles Witte and John Frinak.

Claudia E. Halestad was born in Volga, South Dakota. She married Hans Mossing in October, 1922, in Rock Dell, Minn. They came to Colby in 1938, where Mr. Mossing operated a creamery. He preceded her in death several years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Howard P. Mossing of Wauwatosa and Everett A. Mossing of West Bend; one sister, Jeanette Goldberg of Rochester, Minn.; one brother, Elmer Halestad of Winsted, Minn.; four grand children. One son, Donald, died in October, 1938.

Mrs. Mossing was a member of the Ladies’ Aid and Sewing circle of Zion Lutheran church and the Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was well known for her fine Christian character, and, being of a friendly and kindly disposition, had many friends who are sorry to hear of her death and will miss her.
