Horning, Ellen W. (13 July 1965 - 2 Jan. 2009)

Ellen W. Horning, 43, of the town of Longwood in Clark County, died January 2, 2009, at her residence after an illness of several years.

A homemaker, she was the wife of Earl Z. Horning.

Born in Lancaster County, Pa., on July 13, 1965, she was the daughter of Allen L. and Susie Z. Zimmerman.

She was a member of Longwood Old Order Mennonite Church.

Surviving, in addition to her husband and father, are four daughters: LuAnn, Lucille, Ruth Elaine and Regina, and one son: Duane, all living at home. She has eight sisters: Vera (Amos M.) Hurst of Shippenburg, Pa.; Elva (Earl N.) Hoover of Shelby, Ohio; Susan (Melvin H.) Hoover PennYan, N.Y.; Arlene (Leornard S.) Newswanger of Morgantown, Pa.; Mary E. Zimmerman of Terre Hill, Pa.; Rhoda (Mervin K.) Shirk of East Earl, Pa.; Mirian (Lavern M.) Weaver of Narvon, Pa.; Loretta (David S.) Zimmerman of Narvon, Pa. Four brothers: Samuel W. (Lorrene) Zimmerman of Dundee, N.Y.; Allen W. (Ellen) Zimmerman of Owen; Warren W. (Lois) Zimmerman of Owen; and Lamar W. (Grace) Zimmerman of Greenwood.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rosene Z. Horning, her mother, Susie Z. Zimmerman, a brother, Elvin W. Zimmerman, and a sister, Esther Mae Zimmerman.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Ellen's home Wednesday, January 7, 2009, from 9 a.m. with further services at 10 a.m., at Longwood Old Order Mennonite Church in the town of Longwood, with Bishop Alvin Martin Officiating. Interment is in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2008, at the home of the deceased in the town of Longwood in Clark County. Kindly omit flowers.
