Roger M. Ohlinger, ship fitter fireman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ohlinger of Colby, returned to Pearl Harbor, T.H., March 2 aboard his frigate USS John S. McCain after a six-month tour of duty with the U.S. Seventh Fleet in the Far East. While with the fleet the McCain patrolled the waters of Formosa during the Quemoy Crisis and later, on December 29, provided aid and relief to the fire-ravaged Japanese town of Kaniya on the island of Amami O Shima.
