Bochanyin, John (21 Dec. 1863 - 22 Nov. 1937)

Funeral services for John Bochanyin, 73, a resident in this vicinity since 1896, who died Monday morning at 10:30 o’clock at the home of his son, John Bochanyin, six miles east of Dorchester in the town of Holton, after three day’s illness, were held Wednesday morning at the Catholic church at Milan. The Rev. E. Brickl officiated and burial was in the Dorchester Memorial cemetery. Pall-bearers were George Moros, Andrew and Michael Zobrak, George Krupka, Leonard Bischoff and Joseph Weber.

The deceased was born Dec. 21, 1863, at Topolovka, Austria and came to America in 1886. He was employed for years as a miner in Pennsylvania. He was married at Reading, Pa., in 1887 to Miss Mary Dolak, who died last February. The deceased had served in the Austrian army and during his residence in this vicinity was a farmer. Five years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never fully recovered.

Surviving are five children, John and Michael Bochanyin, town of Holton; Mrs. Joseph Aron, Cleveland, O.; Mrs. Charles Gruhl, Plymouth, and Steve Bochanyin, Waterloo, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
