Schimanski, Eleanor (11 SEP 1948)
In a double ring ceremony at St. Genevieve’s Church, Chicago, Miss Eleanor Schimanski of Chicago, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Herman of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Mr. Michael Rizzo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Rizzo of Chicago.
The bride was given in marriage by Stanley Herman on Sept. 11th, 1948 at 3:00 p.m., Father Clement officiating.
The bride wore a gown of white satin with a net yoke and a ruffle of French lace draping the shoulder line. The princess style waistline was trimmed in back by tiny buttons, with a full skirt and long train. Her fingertip veil of sheer illusion was held in place by a satin coronet. Her bouquet was of white roses with two orchids.
The bride chose her niece, Miss Patricia Pawlicki, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were her best friends, Irene Janczewski, Catherine Cristo and Lillian Grosso. Mr. Vito Rose was best man and ushers were Sam Rizzo and Paul Grosso.
Crepe dinner gowns trimmed with gold sequins on the collar were worn by the bridal attendants. The maid of honor wore gold and the bridesmaids wore a forest green. They all carried talisman roses and wore a crown of gold sequins.
A reception for 200 people followed at Idrott’s Banquet Hall, after which the couple departed for Hayward, Wis., to spend their honeymoon.
