Szczech, Frank J. (15 JUN 1872 - 25 AUG 1948)

Funeral services for Frank J. Szczech, who died Aug. 25th, 1948 at the Stanley hospital, were held Saturday morning at the Junction Church (Clark Co., Wis.). The Reverend Kaim of Thorp officiated with the Rev. Jerome Kamla assisting at the solemn requiem mass.

Mr. Szczech was born in Poland, June 15, 1872. He was united in marriage to Victoria Sopiarz. He came to the United States from Poland in in 1906 and located near Stanley in 1912.

His wife preceded him in death in 1945. Eight children surviving are: three sons, George of Chicago, Joseph and John of Stanley country; and five daughters, Mrs. Alec (Julia) Gutowski, Mrs. Theo. (Mary) Slowiak of Stanley, Mrs. Charles (Bernice) Gutowski of Thorp, Mrs. Stanley (Anna) Warda of Chicago, Mrs. Catherine Apostohs of California; one brother John of Chicago, 36 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One son, Andrew, was killed in France in 1944 and one child died in infancy.

Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Junction.
