Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Ruth Martha Hoefs, Marshfield and Donald LeRoy Correll, route 2, Marshfield.

The Rev. John Albrecht officiated Saturday, August 13, at the12:30 p.m. nuptial service which Miss Marjorie Kroening sang “Wedding Prayer.”

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Hoefs, route 2, Stratford, and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Correll, route 1, Loyal.

The altar was decorated with gladioli and snapdragons as the bride, given in marriage by her father entered the church. She wore a floor length gown of nylon sheer with bateau neckline, fitted midriff and a semifull skirt of unpressed pleats featuring a row of lace near the hemline. The skirt fell into a chapel sweep. Appliques of lace were seen at the neckline, on the midriff and scattered on the skirt front. The boufant illusion veil was secured to a petal cluster of nylon sheer trimmed with pearls and aurora borealis crystals. She choose a spray arrangement of red roses and ivy for her bouquet.

Miss Edna Hoefs, Marshfield, was maid of honor; bridesmaids were Mrs. Wilmer Landwahr, Stratford and Miss Cindy Corrall, Loyal.

The aides wore ming blue floor-length formals of nylon sheer over taffeta designed with bateau necklines. White lace accented the waistlines on the bell-shaped skirts, the backs being completed by watteau panels with cabbage rose trim.

Each wore a matching circular rippled headpiece with ayrora borealis crystal trim.

The groom asked Ervon Corrall, Loyal to be his best man. Groomsmen were Eugene Donnerbauer, Marshfield and Frederick Hurd, Warsaw, Indiana, Wilmar Landwehr and Greg Gardner ushered the guests.

A wedding reception was held at the bride’s parental home. A4:30 p.m. supper was served at the church hall and in the evening the Moonlite Valley Boys played for a wedding dance at the Trianon Ballroom.

Guests were in attendance from Withee, Phillips, Loyal, Marshfield, Auburndale, Arpin, Wausau, Colby, Spencer, Neillsville, Chili, Wisconsin Rapids, Granton, from Danville, Illinois and from Huntington, Indiana.

The bride is a 1954 graduate of Stratford High School, and is employed by Karau’s Super Market, Marshfield. The groom graduated the same year from Loyal High School and is a purchasing agent for the Bethel Convalescent Home at Arpin.

After a wedding trip to the Dakotas, the couple will be residing on Route 2, Marshfield.
