Benz, Frank (18 July 1885 - 11 Feb. 1935)

Frank Benz passed away at his home Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock as the result of bronchial asthma from which he had been suffering for several years and had been receiving treatment at the Madison General hospital for some time.

Mr. Benz was born July 18, 1885 at Markasan, Wis. He was united in marriage to Ella Anderson at Milladore, June 17, 1913 and to this union were born four daughters and three sons.

The family moved here from Sherry in 1921 when Mr. Benz opened a shoe repair shop here. He was forced to abandon his shop because of ill health.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the home and at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran church, the Rev. J. Brandt, officiating.

The pallbearers at the funeral were Gust Hoeft, Ed. Hoeft, Walter Kuenzl, Paul Hessel, John Miller and Clarence Gusse.

Surviving are his wife, and daughters, Mrs. Sam Lewis, Elaine, Esther and Louise, and sons Albert, Arnold and Otto, two sisters, Mrs. William Nehring, Cambria and Mrs. Mat Marte of Sherry and a brother William Benz of Nekoosa.

Among the relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. William Nehring, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nehring of Cambria; Mr. and Mrs. William Benz, John Benz and Mrs. Laurence Bucholz, Nekoosa; Mr. and Mrs. Mat Marti and sons Rubin and Orville, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Becker, Mrs. John Hageman, Sherry; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Berk, Mrs. Leo Smazel and Mr. Marti of Auburndale; Mrs. William Wienholt, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Anderson, Stevens Point and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Anderson of Milladore.
