The marriage of Miss Margaret Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Baker of Stanley, and Reuben Schmidt, son of Mrs. Fred Schmidt of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Stanley on June 3rd, 1947 at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Pollack performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a gown of white satin with long pointed sleeves, the bodice and long train were trimmed with lace. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a beaded coronet halo. She wore pearls and carried a bouquet of white carnations and sweet peas with blue fern.

The little flower girl, Carol Jean Oberle, niece of the bride, carrying a basket of carnations and sweet peas, led the couple to the altar. She was dressed in pink taffeta and net and on her head a blue net bonnet trimmed with pink carnations.

Mrs. George Schmidt, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. She was dressed in pink ninon marquisette trimmed with lace and wore a pink blusher veil. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations with blue fern.

Two junior bridesmaids, Miss Marlene Rademaker, a niece of the bride, and Miss Valeria Klick, a friend, were dressed alike in blue net and taffeta with blue blusher veils. They carried pink carnations with pink fern.

The groom was attended by his brother-in-law, George Schmidt. They wore carnation boutonnieres.
