Tessmer, Dorothy (3 MAY 1947)

Miss Dorothy Tessmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Tessmer of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), and Donald Darge, of Thorp (Clark Co.), were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s parents at Loyal in a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. F. H. Sprengler of Dorchester on Saturday afternoon, May 3rd, 1947.

Miss Tessmer chose as her wedding gown, white satin with a high neckline and long sleeves and a net over dress. Her long veil was edged with lace and she wore a single strand of pearls and carried white calla lilies, flesh colored roses and sweet peas tied with long streamers.

Maid of honor was her cousin, Miss Joyce Clark of Medford and she wore yellow satin with a net over dress and carried tea roses, daisies and sweet peas. Miss Wilma Darge, sister of the groom, wore pink satin with a marquisette over dress and carried flowers identical to those of the maid of honor. Both girls wore double strands of pearls, a gift of the bride and each a blusher to match her gown.

The groom wore a suit of blue gray with pin stripes and a white carnation boutonniere. Groomsmen were LeRoy Tessmer, brother of the bride and Stanley Sokolowski. They wore suits of brown with a carnation boutonniere.

Mrs. Darge and Mrs. Tessmer, mothers of the couple, each wore black dresses and corsages of tea roses and sweet peas. The fathers wore brown suits and white boutonnieres.

A wedding dance was held at the American Legion Hall in Thorp in the evening with Music by Emil Kodl and his orchestra.

The bride has been employed in Missouri for some time and the groom is a veteran of World War II. They will make their home with the bride’s parents temporarily.
