Lauer, George S. (4 MAR 1914 – 13 DEC 1964)

George S. Lauer, 50, a resident of Route 1, Stanley, died at St. Joseph's Hospital at Chippewa Sunday night at 1:45 o'clock.

Mr. Laurer was born in Stanley, March 4, 1914, the son of Peter and Anna Lauer. He spent most of his life in the Stanley area as a famer. His marriage to Anne Scharenbrock took place on June 12, 1933 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, Wis.

He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Stanley.

Surviving are his wife, Anne; four sons and three daughters: George Jr. of Stanley; Victor and Dean, both at home; Melvin, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; Mrs. Al (Janet) Ciolkosz, El Paso, Texas; Mrs. Eugene (Yvonne) Cesik, Stanley; and Diane, at home; three grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard of Stevens Point and Andrew of Anniston, Alabama; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Elizabeth) Walters, Eau Claire; Mrs. Louis (Rose) Malinowski, Thorp; and Mrs. Carl (Mary) Artmann, Milwaukee. His parents and one brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at nine o'clock at St. Anne's Church, Stanley, with Father Edmund Cramer officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, from Wednesday noon until the time of the funeral.
