Jones, John J. #2 (21 DEC 1862 - 2 APR 1933)

John J. Jones was born in Davis Co., Iowa, on Dec. 21, 1862 and passed away at his home in this city on April 2, 1933, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 16 days.

He was united in marriage to Agnes Merritt of Endeavor, Dec. 26, 1889.

He was engaged in carpentry and has spent his last 13 years in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), working in his carpenter shop. He was also a resident of Dalton and Hancock, Wis. For several years before coming to Greenwood. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Greenwood.

The body was taken to Endeavor by G.W. Bishop for burial Wednesday afternoon, April 5th. The Masons of Endeavor took charge of the funeral services. He was laid to rest in the Moundville Cemetery.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and one niece of California, and a host of friends.

Deceased was a kind and loving husband and neighbor, and while a resident in this city, gained the friendship of many people, who extend Mrs. Jones their heartfelt sympathy.
