Gilbertson, Anna (31 DEC 1901 - 4 DEC 1948)

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock from the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) for Mrs. Melvin Gilbertson, 46, who passed away early Saturday morning at her home in the Town of Hoard. She had been in ill health for a long time suffering from a lingering ailment.

The Rev. G. E. Borreson officiated at the service and burial was made in the family lot at the church cemetery.

Pallbearers at the service were: George Lindau, August Buchholz, Cornell Erickson, E.M. Peterson, Art Thompson and William Steinke.

Mrs. Gilbertson, the former Anna Peterson, was born in Vernon County, Dec. 31, 1901, and was married Dec. 9, 1920, at Hayward, to Melvin Gilbertson. The family moved here from St. John’s Mich. Four years ago, when they took over his mother’s farm in Hoard.

Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Neitzel and Mrs. Harvey (Valerie) Klemetson; three sons, Melvin, in service at Fort Knox, Ky., Raymond of Chicago and Kenneth of St. John’s, Mich.; six grandchildren; and four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Martha Tompkins, la Crosse; Mrs. Mabel Larson and Mrs. Sam Hanson, both of St. John’s Mich.; Alfred and Nordal Peterson, St. John’s, Mich., and Elmer Peterson, Westby.
