Copper, Mary M. (6 APR 1865 - 19 AUG 1948)

Mary M. Copper passed away at 8 a.m., Aug. 19, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls where she has been a patient since February of this year.

She was born April 6, 1865 in Ross Co., Ohio, a daughter of Samuel and Frances Green. In her early childhood she moved to DeWitt Co., Ill., where she made her home with her brother. On Dec. 21, 1884, she was married to D. A. Copper and lived in Illinois until 1919 when they came to Withee (Clark Co.), Wis., and resided there until 1942 when they moved to Chippewa Falls.

Preceding her in death were three children who died in infancy, a daughter Lillie clem in 1944 and her husband in May 1948.

Surviving are two sons, Rex of Withee, and Ross of La Crosse, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) in Owen and interment in Riverside Cemetery Saturday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers were L. H. Munson, Art Karow, Sabin Scherf, Don Hawks, Russell Bartz, and Al Coullard, the latter two being from Chippewa Falls. Flowers were in charge of Mesdames Velma Stewart, Ida Munson, Ruth Hawks, Anna Hamel, Margerete Potocnik, Sophie Sajdak, Geraldine Wisniewski, Natalie Scherf and Helen Karow.

A quartette consisting of Rev. M. Glick, Edgar Alberts, Eugene Kop..? and ..(unreadable). Accompanied by Mrs. L. H. Munson, rendered two selection.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Irish, H. W. Gereau and Courtland Hamel.
