Buddinger, Alice Margaret (Marriage - 19 Oct. 1957)

Miss Alice Margaret Buddinger of Milwaukee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Buddinger of Colby, Route 1, and Kenneth G. Schulz of Port Washington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schulz of Port Washington were united in marriage in the First United Church of Christ (Evangelical and Reformed) in Colby Saturday afternoon, Oct. 19, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch reading the marriage ceremony.

Lace fans topped with clusters of red carnations tied with streamers were carried by the three bridal attendants - Marlene Hilt of Marshfield, a sister of the bride as matron of honor and Miss Shirley Mohan and Mrs. Shirley Nelson of Milwaukee as bridesmaids. Cummerbunds that tied in huge bows in the back detailed their identically styled white waltz-length dresses fashioned of lace over net. Removable jackets were worn over the strapless bodices.

James Fairs of Milwaukee was best man. Others attending the groom were Lloyd Hilt of Marshfield, and Jerold Buddinger of Colby, brother-in-law and brother of the bride, respectively. Escorting the guests to their seats in church were Donald Morrow of Colby, an uncle of the bride, and Glen Porth of Milwaukee, a cousin of the groom.

The bride’s little sister, Dixie Lee Buddinger, was flower girl and Gary Vivodi of Appleton, a cousin, was ring bearer. The former’s waltz-length white frock was fashioned of net over taffeta with ruffles trimming the neckline and skirt.

During the reception from 2:30 to 8 o’clock in the Riverview Ballroom, at Stratford, the newlyweds greeted guests before leaving on their honeymoon to northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. Dinner was served there at 4:30 o’clock.

For the past seven years, following her graduation from Colby High School, the bride has been employed by Briggs and Stratton in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her husband, who completed his education at Port Washington High School, is employed by the Wisconsin Electric Power Co. at Oak Creek. They will reside in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
