Zettler, Mary Ann (Marriage - 21 Sept. 1957)

Miss Mary Ann Zettler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony G. Zettler of Colby, Wis. and Alfred Herman Hinkelman, son of Mrs. Elsie Hinkelman of Loyal, were married in Zion Lutheran church in Colby Saturday, Sept. 21st, at 2:00 P.M., Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating at the double-ring ceremony.

Miss Patricia Johnson of Colby attended the bride as maid of honor and Miss Gertrude Meinke of Unity as bridesmaid. They were attired in frocks of Nile green and orchid nylon taffeta having ballerina-length skirts. Their cummerbunds ended in large bows in the back. Headbands of flowers held with pearl clusters, and bouquets of white and Nile green and white and orchid carnations, completed their ensembles.

Attendants for the groom were his brother, Jerry Hinkelman of Loyal and George Zettler of Colby, brother of the bride. Ushers were Clifford Habeck of Unity, a cousin of the bride, and Walter Hinkelman of Loyal, the groom’s brother.

For her wedding, the bride chose a lace over taffeta gown designed with a fitted bodice, long sleeves ending in points over the hands, a pointed scoop neckline; and lace overlays on the full ballerina-length skirt. A crown set with rhinestones and pearls held her finger-tip veil and she carried a bouquet of red roses tied with matching ribbon.

Mothers of both the bride and groom chose dresses of a fall blue and wore corsages of pink roses. Miss Jeanne Tesmer of Colby, sang two numbers during the ceremony, "The Lord’s Prayer" and "O Perfect Love," accompanied by Mrs. Lawrence Preim, organist.

A supper for 50 guests was served in the church hall following the afternoon reception.

The bride, a graduate of Colby High School, has been employed at Hug’s Surge Service. The groom attended Loyal schools. The young couple will reside on a farm near Colby, Wis.
