Pagel, Kathleen H. (12 JUN 1948)

Eau Claire is to be the future home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wendt, whose marriage took place in Zion Lutheran Church at Eau Claire last Saturday afternoon at two o’clock.

The bride, the former Miss Kathleen Helen Pagel, niece of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Pagel, 727 Bridge St., has been employed at the Eau Claire Book and Stationary Co. in Eau Claire for some time. Her husband, who is the son of William Wendt of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), holds a position in Eau Claire with the telephone company. They wil reside there at 108 Emery St. and will be at home to friends after June 14.

Preceding the double ring ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. P. W. Roberts, Arthur Amt sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd," accompanied at the organ by Miss Bonsa, who also played the wedding marches.

The bride wore a gown of white slipper satin, styled with an entrained skirt, full sleeves ending in points over the wrists and a soft Bertha collar fastened with a pearl clip. A crown of pearlized orange blossoms held her fingertip veil, and she carried a white and yellow shower bouquet.

The bridegroom’s nice, Marilyn Wendt, Owen, who served as flower girl, wore a white dotted Swiss floor length frock with shawl color and carried a miniature colonial bouquet. Donald Buchanan, Curtiss, nephew of the bridegroom, served as ring bearer.

Others in the bridal party included Miss Lois Wendorf, Eau Claire, as maid of honor; Miss Vivian Johnson, Mondovi, as bridesmaid; Raymond Wendt, Owen, as best man, and Allan Kloss and Gordon Rock, both of Eau Claire as Ushers.

Miss Wendorf’s gown of blue satin featured an embroidered neckline, leg of mutton sleeves and a flared skirt. A similar gown in pink was worn by the bridesmaid. They carried arm bouquets of pastel flowers and wore corresponding flowers in their hair.

Mrs. Wendt, the mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a gray print and Mrs. Pagel, aunt of the bride, wore a lace trimmed blue and black print. Their accessories were black and their shoulder bouquets were in pastel colors.

Mr. and Mrs. Pagel entertained 40 guests at a reception at their home from 5 to 7 o’clock and preceding the ceremony a noon dinner was served in the private dining room of the Central Café to the immediate families.

When the couple departed on a trip to northern Wisconsin and to Canada, the bride wore a two-piece brown linen suit with beige coat and beige accessories.
