Acker, Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Golden - 4 October 1970)

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Acker of Greenwood celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary October 3 at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Betty) Mikolajczyki in Owen. Mr Acker and Hazel Himes were married October 4, 1920, in St. Paul, Minn.

Mr. Acker, son of August and Minnie Acker, was born October 9, 1891, in Milwaukee, and came to the Greenwood area with his parents at the age of 10. Mrs. Acker was born August 12, 1901, to Arthur and Nettie Himes in the Town of Beaver. After their marriage they farmed in the Town of Warner until they retired 10 years ago. They still live on the farm, now owned by their youngest son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Acker.

They have another son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Acker of Medford. They also have two grandsons, David and Bryan Acker of Greenwood. All were present for the occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. Acker are members of the Zion United Church of Christ and she is a member of the Women’s Guild.

Mr. and Mrs. Acker were honored Sunday by a few friends at their home.
