Pepper, Jane (Marriage - 8 June 1950)

Miss Jane Pepper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Pepper of Custer, S. D. became the bride of Ernest Kissling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kissling, at a ceremony performed in the Methodist church on Thursday, June 8, 1950. Vows were exchanged before an altar banked with baskets of spring flowers and lighted by candelabras. The Rev. Virgil Nulton officiated at the 8 o’clock ceremony.

The bride’s gown of white satin was designed with a tight-fitting bodice, sweetheart neckline, long sleeves buttoning at the wrist and a full skirt that extended into a long train. The dress was designed and made by the bride. Her full length veil was edged with lace and fell from a beaded tiara. She carried a cascade bouquet of white gardenias with blue forget-me-nots.

For her role as matron of honor Mrs. Leon Kapfer wore a yellow taffeta gown with a shirred bodice and puffed sleeves. She wore a yellow hat to match. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white daisies.

Leon Kapfer acted as best man. Misses Jeannine and Joan Borde cousins of the bride, acted as ushers. During the service Randy Briggs sang two selections accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Virgil Nulton, who also played the wedding march.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception for 75 guests was held in the church parlors.

After a weekend honeymoon in northern Wisconsin the young couple will be at home at the Kissling farm.

The groom is also a graduate of Neillsville High School, with the class of ’45. He served with the navy during the war and since his discharge has been farming with his father.
