Long, Dorothy #2 (2 AUG 1947)

In a ceremony at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), Miss Dorothy Lorane Long, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Long, Curtiss (Clark Co.), became the bride of Edmond Rohland, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Rohland, Withee. The Rev. Walter Schedler officiated at the service on Saturday, Aug. 2, 1947.

The bride’s attendants were Miss Marion long, her sister, who was maid of honor; Miss Betty Jean Kraut, Mrs. Lawrence Klemetson, another sister of the bride, and Mrs. Theodore Petke, sister of the groom, who were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Rhinehardt Petke. The flower girl was Nancy Rohland.

The bride wore a princess style gown, fashioned of white satin, with a train. Her three-quarter length veil was draped from a beaded headdress. She carried a bouquet of call lilies and sweet peas.

The maid of honor wore a yellow net gown with a lace bodice and carried a bouquet of white and pink carnations and white larkspur. The bridesmaids were dressed in blue and pink net, respectively, and carried bouquets similar to the maid of honor’s. The flower girl wore white taffeta and carried a basket of garden flowers.

A reception and supper were held at the Curtiss Hall, and a dance honoring the couple was given at Merry Ol’ Gardens during the evening. The bride, who is a graduate of the Owen High School, has been employed at the Motorola plant in Chicago since June, and the groom has been employed at the Hot Point plant there. Mr. and Mrs. Rohland will live in Chicago, being at home to their friends after August 8.
