Hahn, Walter (7 December 1889 - 31 December 1949)

Walter Hahn, 60, died at his farm home in Pine Valley on Saturday, December 31, (1949) at 1:30 p.m. due to a heart attack.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at the Georgas Funeral Home, the Rev. N. J. Dechant officiating. The body will be taken to Bourbon, Ind., for burial.

Mr. Hahn was born on December 7, 1889 at Tippecanoe, Ind. He received his education in the schools there. He was employed at farm work for some time. He was married to Alma Brenitta in Colorado. They operated a ranch at Beach, N.D. until 1934 when Mrs. Hahn died. Several children were born to this union. After Mrs. Hahn’s death, Mr. Hahn returned to Illinois for government schooling and later worked at the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois.

On May 23, 1936 he was married to Johneva Bailey. They farmed in Durant, Ia., for several years, coming to Clark County and purchasing the farm known as the Allen Wildish farm in 1947.

He is survived by his aged mother at Bourbon, Ind., his wife, five sons and one step-daughter, Walter, Jr., Guy, Frank, John and Jerry all at home and Elaine Cochran of Washington, D.C. Also the following brothers and sisters, Arthur Hahn, Bourbon, Ind., Ralph Hahn, Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Erwin (Alice) Hepler, Elkhart, Ind., Mrs. Calvin (Margaret) Staley, Warsaw, Ind. and Gertrude Hahn of Bourbon, Ind.

Two brothers, one sister and his father, preceded him in death, as well as his first wife.
