Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) for Mrs. Auguste Bernsee Schmidt. Burial was made in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers at the service were Wm. Smith, Ray Smith, Albert Smith, Frank Smith, Fred Schmidt and Joe Kowalewski. Flower girls were Gladys Smith, Virginia Smith, Marie Neuman and Miss Kowalewski.

Auguste Bernsee Schmidt was born Dec. 29, 1869, at Breitenstein, Germany.

She was united in marriage to Charles Schmidt on March 19, 1891, at Ripon, Wis. They lived in Fond du Lac Co. for about nine years, then moved to Clark County, where they have since made their home. Her husband preceded her in death in 1944.

She passed away at her home west of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) on Sunday afternoon, July 20, 1947, after being ill for about four weeks. She leaves to mourn, one son Elmer, and one daughter Alice (Mrs. Knowlton), both of Curtiss. Also two sisters, Mrs. Anna Thiemi of the Town of Hoard, and Mrs. Mary Berry of Fond du Lac, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lena Schmidt of Fond du Lac. Five grandchildren, Mrs. Lloyd Holvorson, Owen, Lawrence and Frank Knowlton of Red Wing, Minn., Lester Knowlton of Owen, and Mabel (Mrs. Robert Cain) of Owen, and two great-grandchildren, Donald and Dolores Knowlton.
