Thompson, Judith Helen (Marriage - 22 August 1970)

Given in marriage by her father, Judith Helen Thompson of Seattle, Wa., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thompson of Rt. 1 Neillsville, became the bride of Wallace Melvin Bergquist of Edmonds, Wa., son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Bergquist of Longview, WA., Saturday August 22 at 3 p.m. the wedding was performed in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. The Rev. D. E. Wenger and George Thompson the latter the bride’s uncle, performed the double-ring ceremony in the presence of 200 guests.

The bride wore a floor-length, cage-style gown of crepe with a chiffon overskirt and daisy appliqués on the bodice with matching train. A cathedral-length veil with a petal headpiece of venise lace daisies completed the gown. She carried colonial white flowers of daisies, roses, gladioli and stephanotis.

Miss Karla Strutzel of Cashmere, Wa., was maid-of-honor. Mrs. Lavonne Simmons of Minneapolis, Mn, and Miss Luann Gerold of Alma were bridesmaids. They wore yellow linen A-line formals, trimmed with white lace, harmonizing floral petal headpieces, and carried baskets of yellow and white daisies.

Charles Bergquist of Kelso, Wa., was bestman; Greg Simmons of Minneapolis, Mn. and David Bergquist of Longview, Wa., were groomsmen. Ushers were Byron Trachte of Springfield, Va., and Lee Fluekiger of Alma. Daniel Mueller of Alma was ringbearer, and Beth Ann Trachte of Springfield, Va., was the flowergirl.

Mrs. Lavonne Simmons sang, accompanied by Mrs. Don Warner.

A reception was held in the church parlor.

The bride graduated from Neillsville High School, the Medical Institute of Minneapolis, Mn., and Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle. She is employed as a medical technician in Seattle, Wa. The groom graduated from Mark Morris High School in Longview, Wa., Lower Columbia College in Longview, and the Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle. He is a retail clerk in Seattle.

After a wedding trip to Canada, the couple will make their home at 622 Glen Street, Seattle.
