Fredrick, Augusta (19 MAY 1868 - 3 FEB 1947)

At 10 o’clock this morning funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. S. Matthews, from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin), for Mrs. Gus Fredrick, whose body was then taken to Fall Creek where services were conducted from the Peace Evangelical Church at 1:30 o’clock this afternoon. Interment was made in the Church cemetery at Fall Creek.

Mrs. Fredrick, nee Augusta Kriesel, died at the home of her son, Herbert, on Monday, Feb. 3, 1947, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 15 days.

She was born on May 19, 1868 at Colmar, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kriesel. When a small child of one years she came to this country with her parents, settling at Green Lake Prairie, Wis., where they made their home for five years. They then moved to Fall Creek, where on March 27, 1894, she and her husband were united in marriage. Four children were born to the couple. She made her home in this community for 57 years, gaining the respect of her neighbors for being a loyal friend and helpful to everyone that knew her.

Since 1931 her home had been made near Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) with her son, Herbert, where the same qualities that earned so many friends at Fall Creek gained her a wide acquaintance of friends soon after establishing her home in this community.

She was a devoted wife and living mother, always working for the welfare of her family.

Surviving are her husband, one son, Herbert of Owen, and one daughter, Mrs. H. B. Knickerbocker of Eau Claire, and three grandchildren. Two other children preceded her in death.
