Rogers, Percy R. (4 Nov. 1922 - 24 Sept. 1991)

OSSEO - Loyal native Percy R. Rogers, 68, Osseo, died Tuesday at Lutheran Hospital, Eau Claire.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roger Benrud officiating. Burial will be in West Beef River Lutheran Cemetery, Strum.

Visitation will be at Schiefelbein Funeral Home, Osseo, from 5-8 p.m. today and then at the church one hour before service time Saturday.

He was born Nov. 4, 1922, in Loyal, to George and Clara (Otto) Rogers. He lived in Abbotsford and Pepin before he moved to Osseo in 1933. He graduated from Lincoln Hill High School. He married DeVern Moltzau Aug. 10, 1946, in Strum.

He was a linotype operator for 40 years and worked on weekly newspapers in Augusta, Winneconne and Galesville until 1958. He then worked in commercial printing in Winona, Minn. He retired in 1984 and returned to Osseo in 1987.

He was a member of Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was past president of Winona Typographical Union No. 246. He was also Galesville civil defense director, a member of Galesville Credit Union Board and a Galesville Boy Scout leader for 17 years.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Adrian (Paula) Wydeven of Shawano; his mother of Osseo; one brother, Clarence of *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
