Skwierczynski, Ronald Leslie (17 August 1945 - 9 August 2008)

Ronald Leslie Skwierczynski, age 62, of Thorp, WI passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Gilman Care Center. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.

Ronald was born on August 17, 1945 in Owen, WI to Frank and Antoinette (Lewan) Skwierczynski. He received his education in Chicago, IL and graduated from Taft High School in 1963. He then attended Northern Illinois University and received a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1968. After completing his education, Ron taught at Wood Oaks Jr. High School in Northbrook, IL, for ten years. He later worked in sales for the Xerox Corp. before buying his own auto parts business in Mt. Prospect, IL, which he owned until his retirement in 1990. He then moved to Thorp, WI, to care for his mother. During his retirement years, Ron served as the trip coordinator for the Chippewa Trails casino buses.

In his spare time Ron enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago White Sox, Black Hawks, and Bears.

He is survived by: one sister, Betty (Ted) Wesolowski of Mr. Prospect, IL and by one brother, Raymond (Tamara) Skwierczynski of Andover, MA; one sister-in-law, Debbie Dettman of Palatine, IL; seven nieces and many friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Robert Skwierczynski.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

I had been looking for Ronnie for years! we grew up on the same street (Overhill) went to grammer school and high school together and had been close friends in our early years. I stumbled across his death notice and was so sad that we had not been able to connect. My best to your family... Squirt was a special friend.
