Muriel I. "Mim" Ure, 74, of Granton died Monday, September 1, 2008, at the House of The Dove, Marshfield.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Buchanan Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Muriel I. "Mim" Ure, 74, of Granton, died Monday, September 1, 2008, at the House of the Dove Hospice, Marshfield.

Muriel was born December 23, 1933, in the Town of Lynn to Robert and Lula (Sternitzky) Ure. She received her education at the Sunbeam School in Lynn and the Granton High School, graduating in 1953. She was employed at the Roddis Company and later Weyerhaeuser for 44 years, retiring at age 65. Muriel loved her family and friends dearly; her most treasured times were spent visiting with them. She enjoyed country and western music, rodeos and traveling throughout the United States, especially to dude ranches, the Calgary Stampede and Canada. Muriel was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Chili. She lived her life as a good Christian lady and ended in with a courageous battle with lung cancer. It was very special to Muriel to be a godmother for four loved ones - Ted Ure (nephew), Susan (Ure) Heiting (niece), Nicholas Anding (great-nephew) and the daughter of a close friend.

She is survived by brothers and sisters, Lloyd (Bev) Ure, Granton, Ronald "Pete" Ure, Rockford, IL, and Rita (Duane) Rollins, Chili.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Deborah (Neil) Cronin, North Carolina, Kim Schmidt, Neillsville, Bradley (Lori) Schmidt, Neillsville, Ned (Kris) Schmidt, Neillsville, Cindy Ure, Granton, Barbara (Gordon) Anding, Granton, Susan (Steven) Heiting, Marshfield, Dale Rollins, Chili, Mike Rollins, Granton, Ricky (Pam) Rollins, Chili, Bob (Julie) Rollins, Marshfield, Ted (Nancy) Ure, Poplar Grove, IL., Donna (Burdette) Coberly, Boscobel, Mary Lopez, Rockford, IL, and Ed (Christy) Ure, McChesney Park, IL.

She is further survived by great-nieces and nephews Joshua, Adam and Tristana Coberly, Jim Lyndall, Katie Cronin, Aimee Clott, Dan and Dylan Schmidt, Russell and Frank Schmidt, Joel and Natasha Carolfi, Nicholas Anding, James and Mary Rollins, Tony Rollins, Cody and Brooke Rollins, Tyler Rollins, Austin and Alex Ure, Ryan Ure and Chad, Chris, Cody and Catrina Lopez.

Muriel was preceded in death by one sister, Lila Schmidt; one brother-in-law, Urban Schmidt; one sister-in-law, Vicky Ure; one great-niece, Carlee Ure; and one great-nephew, Carl Tyndall.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili, with Rev. John Trewyn officiating. The family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 12, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at the Town of Lynn Cemetery.

Memorials have been suggested to the House of the Dove, Marshfield.
